My students need a space in the classroom, with a couch and carpet, to relax and stay calm. The perfect solution is a space with flexible seating where they can read and use sensory items available to them. The couch and carpet will allow me to make a space in my classroom that supports all of my students needs and allows them to be successful in school. Some of my students can be easily overwhelmed by noise and sensory overload. Having a calm, safe space in the classroom is essential for them to manage their behavior and to learn self-regulation, which is a skill they can use in all aspects of life.
