Technology is slowly being distributed throughout our district, however, it is not fast enough for my digital natives! I was so thrilled when I found affordable Chromebooks and a locking charging cabinet (that my district requires) on Amazon Business through Donors Choose! My second graders are excited about using Chromebooks to explore applications that will allow them to demonstrate their understanding in a way that is meaningful to them! Students will practice language arts and reading skills by using Chromebooks during their novel study groups to create interactive responses and projects while collaborating with peers in their classroom and throughout the district! Practicing fact fluency and using progress monitoring sites that tailor math lessons to each students individual needs are an excellent way to bridge the gap from school to home as students have access in both settings. My students can't wait to research their group projects for our science and social studies units and publish their creative writing projects as well!
