My students need the amazing 120 Grid Classroom Rug for math intervention strategies that involve movement to help them with math fact fluency and mental math while also providing enrichment in multiplication. Much of our math curriculum has become worksheet oriented which is effective for some students, but many of our students need more interactive methods. Multi-sensory methods exercise the mind and the body improving learning and retention. Using a chart to count on and subtract 1s and 10s gives students fluidity with numbers. Being able to see patterns on a grid with skills like counting 5s and 10s allows children to grasp counting money concepts. With repeated addition like 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, students can use the number chart to begin learning multiplication tables. An added benefit is the fact that this rug also serves as flexible seating with space for 30 students.
