I would like to create a wellness and mindfulness center for the students. My vision is that the students can come into a quiet and relaxed setting to decompress and go through yoga poses, as well as various mindfulness exercises to regain their focus and stay present. If they choose, students can sit and find their center in comfortable chairs, listening to soothing music, tracing a calming mandalynth or even coloring. My wish is that the wellness room will decrease the number of student absences and visits to the nurse due to anxiety, while also teaching students how to identify their triggers and teach various methods to cope and take care of themselves.
