I teach students in a self contained Multiple Disabilities classroom. My students come to me with all different abilities and challenges. However, one goal across the board for all of my students is life skills. We are teaching them the skills needed to live life after high school. Currently, my students host a monthly bake sale where they create a menu, gather the supplies, make the items and sell what they create. The money made from these bake sales are then used to take the students on community outings. Having a stove and refrigerator in the classroom will greatly expand what my students are able to provide at their bake sales as well as develop many more life skills.
