As with every classroom I struggle to get funding for proper materials. I have bought several students calculators, but as a teacher I can only afford so much. When I teach technology enhanced lessons the students are having to share calculators and it puts them at a disadvantage. They have to wait their turn and it hinders the ability to develop conceptual knowledge. When the students are taking assessments, some are not able to use a calculator because I do not have the resources for them. By giving my low income students the opportunity to have individual calculators, you will provide them with the confidence and opportunities to advance their mathematical understandings. Please help support my kids by providing them with they materials they need.
