Last week, my colleague who teaches in the second Pre-K classroom, recently got two tablets funded by DonorsChoose.org for her students. By the second day of using it, her students were already documenting how a seed grows and taking pictures with the tablet. Since our school is about to become a STEAM designated institution and after seeing for myself how 3-year olds could easily master the tablet, I decided to make my first project request. In an ideal Pre-K classroom, each child should spend 15 to 20 minutes on their lesson every day. With the tablets, the children will be able to access and complete their tasks with no problem. The other major issue is that the 3 year-olds can hardly use the mouse on the computer. "It's a touch generation". with the touch of their finger they will effectively succeed and excel.
