Every student in my class looks forward to computer time in the classroom. Each student should have at least an hour each week of time on the computers. However, with 20 students and only 4 classroom desktops, many students get less than 45 minutes each week. My students are growing up in a technologically driven world with little to no access to technology at their fingertips. The addition of Amazon Fire Kids' Tablets would ensure each student experience learning games and internet research each day. These students are from a low-income district where most are only exposed to technology in the classroom. They need the time to learn how to navigate computers and tablets, especially with most of their major tests taking place on a screen. My students are eager to learn and I'd love to further their love of learning by incorporating more technology into our curriculum.
