More and more is being asked of our students every day. They need to be able to read non-fiction text and analyze it through writing. More often than not, the material my students are given to work on these skills are at a level they cannot understand. This leads to frustration and then they shut down. You cannot analyze something you don't understand. These magazines are written at an interest level to grabs my students attention. Not only that, the articles are written at a reading level that my students can work with. When they can read and understand an article, they are better able to work on the skills needed to be a successful reader and writer.

About my class
