At our elementary school, we are implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) through the use of STEM projects and interactive hands-on learning. We are looking to grow our self-sustainable garden while incorporating all all subject matters taught in the classroom and the science lab. Each grade level will be planting vegetables and plants that correlate with their language arts and social studies curriculum. Students will apply their math and science skills by collecting and analyzing data on the plant life they tend to and cultivate in the the school garden. In order for the self-sustaining garden to be successful and a positive experience for the students, adequate funding is needed for this garden project.
