As a part of our final writing unit the 3rd graders in my class are writing fairy tale adaptations. This unit helps their creativity flow and incorporates all of their imaginative ideas. We start the unit by reading many fairy tales to understand how they go as well as what changes they see authors making. The students are reading them all day long with enthusiasm. The main resources include books! Popular stories you will find are Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, The 3 Little Pigs, and The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Not only do these stories incorporate the love of a new genre but also diversity with all of the adaptations!

About my class
