I have a variety of learners in my 6th-grade Literature class. I have students who are reading at a high school level while others are reading at a second or third-grade level. Those students are the students who keep me up at night. They desperately seek to be able to read books that their friends are reading, but are unable to understand what is going on in grade level books that their classmates are reading. The Kindles will allow this access so that deep and rich conversations can take place. This project will help increase the confidence of my students! They will be able to have deep and meaningful conversations with their peers about books that are grade-level appropriate. Up until this point, my students have not been able to read those grade-level appropriate books well enough to understand. My students will feel like they are equals which is something they have not been able to feel before at the academic level!
