In our school, it's not always easy to get access to computers. The few computer carts we share often have less than 30 computers, making it difficult for students to work on individualized projects. If we keep a few laptops in our classroom, it will make it much easier to use computers in our lessons and take advantage of all the wonderful educational resources on the web! Computers help students become better writers. When we are able to use computers, students can more easily revise written work, collaborate with peers in the editing process, and keep their writing guides organized. But computers also help students grow as readers. Using sites like NewsELA, we can help students read text perfectly tailored to suit the needs of their disabilities and home languages.
