These books will help me create a classroom library that will provide students access to engaging books they may not be able to find on their own. Very few students go to the public library, and even fewer spend money on books themselves. Our school library is limited in books that appeal to young readers, especially newer teen novels. I have purchased some books myself, but in order to be effective, I need a large variety of books. I cannot feasibly purchase these books myself (especially on a teacher's salary), nor do we have the budget in our school to purchase the books either. These books will provide a huge revitalization to the options I can provide students when assigning independent reading.
