I need basic supplies for students to learn geometry. They will use these tools for hands on explorations of ideas in Geometry. The compass and ruler (straightedge) are fundamental tools for working with geometry. No experience of learning geometry is really complete without use of these tools to construct objects. Patty paper allows students a unique way to explore ideas in geometry. (e.g. they can bisect angles, they can bisect segments, they can transform objects with rotation or translation.) Scissors are a necessary tool for almost any classroom! They say "a picture is worth a thousand words" but often times a picture of a three dimensional object is difficult for students to conceptualize. Geometric solids are useful for students to understand these three dimensional objects.
