Our students read for 30 minutes in the beginning of class. We have access to Chromebooks that included 100s of bilingual texts. Using headphones, the students benefit from hearing the pronunciation while they are learning the new vocabulary. Reading aloud with the texts helps students to correct their pronunciation errors. They will be able hear words and passages repeated, and they will be able to reread and review pages without distracting other students. Students won't feel pressured to work at a pace they are not ready for yet. This is differentiation at its best! Students can hear texts that they select and they can have control over their own learning.
