Giving low-income special needs students access to math and science through technology is an investment in their future. Special needs students usually need special accommodations to ensure their learning. They love technology! There are so many math and science applications that can bring these subjects to life. The iPad and Apple Pencil will be placed in the math or science center to be used by 2-3 students at a time. it will also be used to make short movie clips illustrating science and math concepts. Using BrainPOP, Waterford, and other programs students will have real life access to science which includes lessons on hibernation, metamorphosis, weather, and motion, which they will be able to see, hear and touch on the Pad. Nonverbal students will be able to speak to text allowing him/her to type in a response to a question and then hear it. Real life math lessons will include numbers and operations with practical math for everyday.
