Our school offers two sections of general music appreciation, one of which is part of the exploratory wheel. This program allows incoming sixth graders to experience a different elective each trimester, with the hope that they will find what makes them tick when they reach seventh grade. I introduce guitar to my class. Right now my classroom has enough guitars to support half the class. I am looking to expand this to support a 1:1 ratio. Students have shown tremendous improvement in music and have been inspired by learning guitar. Our school mascot is the falcon. I want to see our Falcons SOAR in their music skills and love of music!
