Foreign languages are nothing new to my classroom. Our multi-cultural classroom has Spanish, Arabic, Italian, French, and Japanese speakers. The class has had Spanish lessons for 3 years, but the difficulties of finding and retaining a teacher have been immense. There has been huge gaps in their learning. In order for these 8th grade students to reach High School with a Spanish II level, I've decided to take matters into my own hands. The workbooks will allow the students to work independently and self-paced, yet also help one another along the way. The audio-story books will give the students the opportunity to hear the language while learning it in context. For our native Spanish speakers, we've chosen Italian to give them a new language as well. Vamos aprender!
