Sitting at a desk all is incredibly boring! Many of my students have difficulty remaining on task when working independently at their desks. To help them focus we allow movement throughout the class period, but there are times when they have to be in their seats working independently. During this time small movements can help engage them and keep them on task. Movement is beneficial to all students, particularly those who have difficulty focusing. With balance chairs and wobble chairs the students will be able to focus on their work and get movement in at the same time. This will help to increase the learning time in our classroom. Having small fidgets, like stress balls and tangle toys, to keep hands busy will help students focus during instruction to help them get the most out of their time in the classroom. Providing students with productive outlets for their movement needs is key in creating a productive classroom. Having flexible seating would allow the students to move more throughout the day to help them focus on their classwork. By creating an environment where students can move throughout the day you will help my students become more successful in the classroom and help build a love of learning!
