I am teaching a new course called "3-D Printing and Engineering". In this course students will build a 3-D printer, learn the basics of computer aided design, and learn how take their designs from the computer and make them a real thing. Students will then be asked to design and engineer solutions to science problems through the use of their CAD and engineering skills, and evaluating the effectiveness of their designs. The goal of this project is to supply our 3-D printers with enough filament to ensure that all students will have the ability to print and test their CAD designs.
