The goal of this project is to provide the opportunity to use technology, with Chromebooks, to every student. Many of my students miss instruction due to absences, in and out of school suspensions, and being pulled from class for academic interventions. The frequent absences leads to students being disengaged with class and a decrease in homework completion. This project will allow students who do not have technology at home to engage in and enjoy their education in school. Research shows that students who are able to use technology are more engaged and active in their education. This project will help make students feel empowered through their educational experience. I hope to target disengaged students by creating an exciting and welcoming classroom environment. My project will keep students motivated to come to school to participate in an education they enjoy. Through keeping students motivated it will decrease absences and promote engagement.
