Reading and writing go hand-in-hand in education. I believe that students need to learn to read and write in multiple ways. In traditional education, students learn with worksheets. In my classroom I really think that a hands-on approach is important. By using the magnetic letters stationed at each student work table, as well as a baking sheet for each student, I want to give students the opportunity to create sight words, vocabulary words, and any other things they are currently learning in class. With magnetic letters, they can create a multitude of things. They could be given a word and discover the addition or deletion of the letters within their hands, create rhyming words. Giving students the opportunity for hands-on learning can be beneficial in expanding their education in a multitude of ways.
