When my students read chapter books, they gain a boost of confidence and the motivation to read more. Due to reading difficulties, students do not often attempt to read a chapter book or have the support to read a chapter book independently. In our classroom, students will be provided with support to read about the magical adventures in the Magic Tree House books. The books are written at a level students can decode and read while having the success of finishing a chapter book. Junie B. Jones and Weird School provide comic relief and encourage students to read for enjoyment.
