The items needed go together in a unit to help students get more interested in words and how they are created. The Plickers are small cards that can be read with a teacher phone. They help students because they show me what students still don't understand. The major benefit is that students don't need technology, it can all be done by the teacher, so there isn't pressure on the kids or school who can't afford expensive equipment. The Critical Thinking activities are to help us go deeper into the meaning of words to understand their structure. Amelia Bedelia books help students understand homophones in a fun way. Bananagrams and Boggle make word creation more fun, especially in the larger sizes (especially for my exceptional students).
