My students need headphones to better utilize some of our Literacy Stations. While listening to books on our computer, many students complain that they cannot hear the book. Though valiant efforts are made to keep the class at a quieter level, it does not suffice. The games my students play on the computer are ones that require being able to hear what is happening, because they are building their phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is the basis of learning how to read and kids need to be given the opportunity to hear without unnecessary distractions. Help my kids build their reading skills on strong, solid foundations.
