My students need classroom sets of colored pencils and scissors so we can complete more hands-on activities. We have found many puzzles that require scissors and projects that benefit from color coding, but most students do not carry their own set of scissors or pencils from class to class. These projects would be much easier if supplies were already in the classroom for students to share. Many of these activities are multi-lesson projects. Students like being able to keep their work in the classroom until they are done working on it, but they need an organized way of doing so to prevent misplaced or mishandled work. Filing systems will come in handy to store students' projects!
