I would use the funds to purchase 6 Chromebooks. This would enhance the student's writing process and also aid in developing their technology skills. The Tier 2/3 students that are in need of support are usually those that do not have access to any technology at home. Therefore, this would provide them with the opportunity to access and communicate information. Utilizing the Chromebooks will also allow the students to have access to phonics and reading programs that will assist in closing the achievement gap. The web allows students to engage in dynamic learning across a range of modalities. We are no longer limited to learning by solely listening to a lecture or reading a book. All students do not learn the same way, and using Chromebooks allows for targeting different types of learners. Obtaining Chromebooks for those students that need the academic support the most would be like a wish come true.
