Having all the necessary resources will give every student the opportunity to write, report, and explore mathematical and scientific knowledge in my 7th and 8th grade classroom. The rulers and protractors, pencils and paper will be used for measuring, finding angles, solving linear equations, and consequently recording that information in their journals. It is a school-wide goal to improve test scores in all areas. Knowing that our students have had difficulty in math and science, I use recent test scores to inform my instruction and to proactively reteach the concepts where there are misconceptions and errors. The students will benefit greatly by having every day fresh pencils to write with, as well as the basic tools to get the math and science started.
