My plan is to purchase several hundred books for 5K-2nd Grade students. These books are FOR children, to be read BY children. Students need access to readable text at their own levels to practice with. That's what this project is all about. I want children to be able to use these books to strengthen and "show off" their reading skills to their teachers, friends, and families. They will be used in the classroom, in small groups, and then taken home for homework. This allows families to share and participate in their children's literacy journey. Students will use these books to APPLY what they are learning in class (problem-solving strategies, making connections, etc.)...an important and necessary component in building a literate community of learners. With your help, we can change lives...one book at a time.
