My students love to read, and one of their favorite reading stations is our listening center. When our old CD player broke, I had to put this station on hold until we could get a replacement. My students ask everyday when we're getting a new CD player because they can't wait to get back to the fun of listening center! My students love listening to seasonal books and favorite read-alouds! While many of my students are learning English as their second language, I feel that listening to stories helps build vocabulary, and a love for reading. My students love re-listening to stories we have read aloud in class, such as The Kissing Hand and The Biggest Pumpkin Ever!
