We are expanding our outdoor classroom by adding CHICKENS! Our students, families, teachers, and community partners have built and maintain a vegetable garden at our school. To add engagement by making learning meaningful for our students, we are working together to build a secure chicken coop with an outdoor classroom. We will watch our students and our chickens Grow Lead and Transform together through this project. Students will become school leaders as they: 1) work within a budget planning the chicken coop, 2) schedule chicken care, and 3) communicate about the project through morning, video announcements. The fencing material requested will define the outdoor classroom allowing inspired teachers to maximize the teaching opportunities from this project. The picket fencing will differentiate the classroom learning space from the other spaces outside. We will donate the eggs to people that need food.
