Our students need daily access to the personalized learning software that our district provides to help with their reading and mathematics skills. It is proven that if we provide daily practice to this amazing tool, that children will make much greater progress than if we are only relying on a once a week trip to the school's computer lab. In the programs, they practice math skills suited to their own developmental level. In reading, they are learning phonics and comprehension skills to establish a strong foundation for their future reading. These skills are essential to their future success in school. We will also be using the Chromebooks for our listening center, and to record our voices for presentations in the classroom. We find that if we can hear ourselves speaking, that our language improves immensely. Students will also use the Chromebooks to add to their digital portfolios on our app that we share with parents.
