The project will help students in two classes: IB Pre-Calculus and AP Physics 1 which are both rigorous in nature. Calculations are constantly done. It is important that the students are able to do computations and see that there are varied ways of getting the same answer. Graphing, is one of those ways of visually representing the abstract solutions we get from using equations. Currently, the students are using online calculators that take away critical thinking among the students because it is giving away too much information. This is not a good use of technology because it is "dumbing down" the students instead of challenging them to think critically. By supporting this project, we help the students be more efficient while still challenging them to be critical thinkers and not completely dependent on technology.
