As the school psychologist, I am tasked to support students with significant social-emotional-behavioral challenges. I have found that children are comfortable and familiar with learning through literature. By using storybooks about sensitive topics, students are provided examples and models of peers dealing with their same challenges. My hope with this project is to create a library full of storybooks and activity resources that can reach the varied social-emotional-behavioral needs of my students. By discussing the difficulties of the characters, as well as strategies to mediate them, my students will have a safe way to improve their own skills.
