Headphones will help to supplement my classroom instruction by allowing students to work independently on tablets or computers. Because I teach in a special education classroom, my students are rarely working on the same lessons or at the same grade level. Providing each student with their own headphones will allow them to work more independently and with fewer distractions. Students can listen to online supplemental lessons without being distracted by the tablets/computers others are using, my small group/individualized instruction in the classroom directed to others, or students in neighboring classrooms. My goal is to have each student be able to work to the best of their ability with minimal distractions in order for them to show more academic gains and I believe that headphones will facilitate learning for my students.
