These books will be used during guided reading lessons. The teacher will gather students according to their reading ability and together they will read these non-fiction texts. In our class, we enjoy reading non-fiction texts to explore the world around us. The books will not only help them as they learn to read new sight words and phonics skills, but will introduce them to real world information about science, social studies, and our communities. Each student will have their own book to follow along as we read as a small group. The books will be great because the students all vary in reading abilities so it is so helpful to have different levels of books to meet all their needs.
