My students struggle with anger and other emotional frustrations throughout the school day and at home. Within an ever changing world of learning at our fingertips, my students learn ways to keep cool and calm down in many different ways using sight, sound, touch and even smell. My plan is to work in small groups and one on one to educate students on strategies how to calm down and maintain a positive attitude throughout their day. Students can listen to social stories on the iPad using The Social Express and other interactive programs for positive social learning. Students can also use an array of sensory/fidget objects to calm down. My students need both technological and physical supports to help build a positive healthy self to be able to work through their toughest situations at school and at home. My young geniuses are in need of a little extra help mastering positive social skills to become responsible global change agents in the world.
