I used to work in a shoe shop and my boss would always say, "You've gotta have 10 pairs of shoes to sell one!" I have found that this same idea applies to our classroom library. Having multiple titles to choose from across a wide range of reading levels will increase the likelihood that students will find a book that not only interests them, but that is also developmentally appropriate. When students have access to high quality reading materials, they are more likely to read! I would like to add these leveled readers to our ever growing classroom library in order to meet the needs of all of the readers in my class, from emergent to proficient.
