In my science lab, we have tables that are all at the same level and it makes it extremely difficult for the ones in the back to see all of the demonstrations due to our large class sizes. My goal is to create a higher tier of tables by utilizing bed risers and bar stools to give the back row an elevated view. This will help them see the white board, presentations, and lab demonstrations better. This will also give me a better view of those sitting in the back when I do need to have a clear view of everyone. Another reason I would like to add bar stools and heightened lab tables to my room is to give students an alternative seating option. Some of my students have special needs and would really benefit from being able to stand up and work at their table when they get restless. When the table is elevated they will have the choice of sitting or standing without being distracting to their classmates.
