I truly believe, and research shows that students get better at reading with practice. I need all of my students reading daily, both in the classroom and at home. My Spanish Immersion students are lacking high quality literature in the classroom and at home. This project will provide my students with the necessary books to help them grow and develop as readers. Students with increased opportunities to read will build stamina and develop a daily, lifelong love of reading. My goal for this project is to foster a love of reading with in my students. In addition, I want to ensure that my students go home nightly with a good book at their reading level. Also to increase the volume of reading they are doing as suggested by CCSS. Lastly, this project will help me build a community of readers.
