I am the reading/math Academic Intervention Specialist for grades 2nd-5th. My students are 95% African American and attend a Title I school. The students I tutor are great students but struggle with reading comprehension and math computation. Although some students lack financial resources, they have an incredible work ethic and desire to learn as they arrive every day. I also fight relentlessly for them to have access to amazing materials that their wealthier peers may take for granted.
