Children need many books for reading group and daily practice. At these lowest levels (A-E) children need even more! Over half of my classroom of 25 fall into this category. Having these "First Little Reader books" at levels A-D will provide me with many sets of books that will be used for daily small group instruction, daily independent reading and weekly homework practice. My Children need more books to practice their reading skills! In my classroom I have a classroom library that helps meet the needs and interests of many children in a mixed class of 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. My biggest need is for the beginning readers. I do not have enough books at their skill level or interest level. Having these books will surely fill a huge need for my students.
