My students are bright and funny. They love positive attention from teachers and peers. The teachers lucky enough to work with these little friends always light up when talking about them. My students also face significant barriers to communication, academic achievement, and daily functioning. Their journeys are quite a bit harder than those faced by their peers. We grow together, at our own pace, in a safe, warm, language-rich and loving environment. My students work with me in a smaller instructional space, usually one at a time to maximize the impact of interventions and minimize the distractions of bigger, more crowded spaces.
