Many of my Kindergarten students are brand new to the country with little to no exposure to English. It's my duty as their teacher to expose them to English and teach them how to speak, read, and write in English. It's hard enough as it is for a child brand new to the country to try to adapt to the new culture, but not having the materials to make their transition easier only adds stress. If we have the correct books, it will encourage my students to believe in their ability to read and learn in English! I am requesting high interest books that have simple sentence and repeating patterns. The book bins will allow my students to quickly organize and search for books on their level and help us to keep our classroom neat!
