Students come into my classroom required to face their biggest challenges in school. Supplying headphones and microphones gives my students one less barrier they need to defeat in order to succeed. A large portion of my students cannot afford their own headphones, this results in not having any to use or using the few I have left. Those that bring their own struggle due to lack of compatibility. My goal is to provide them with materials they need that can help them not only overcome these challenges, but provide them with strategies to be successful in life. With your support, my students can feel validated knowing their push toward success is important not just to them but everyone they meet. These microphones and headphones open a brand new door to possibilities my students and I are trying to grasp. With your donations we can utilize the programs we have to their full potential. They would be able to replay their records to help them improve their decoding skills. Many of my students have significantly closed the gaps in their learning and would be able to go one step further with these materials. Microphones and headphones will also provide students with the opportunity to have assistive technology available to them. Many student benefit from using speech to text when writing and expressing their thoughts. This is not possible without a microphone to isolate their voice when in a room with others. Having this ability will allow me to reach multiple students without the need for constant one on one support, providing them with the opportunity to become more independent.
