Scholastic News magazines would provide my students with opportunities to read and experience things from all over the world. Scholastic News is a consumable weekly activity I would use in my classroom to teach text features, main idea and key details and often allow me to incorporate literacy, social studies and science. Lastly, it is an awesome resource for our English as a Second Language students. Using the Scholastic News in the past, I see how excited my students are to learn the new concepts and how much the text, video and digital resources really excite the students. They also provide an extra resource for the students to take home and add to their personal library. We show our parents how they can also use weekly magazines.
