I have requested a variety of items to assist with positive behavior support in my classroom. I teach students who are in a behavior program and being displaced from our campus has presented some additional challenges for my students and I am trying to be creative in addressing these issues in my classroom. My students lack motivation and currently I do not have resources necessary to drive them towards positive behavior so all my students will be successful academically and socially in the classroom. The items requested include iPads, gaming systems, art supplies and general classroom supplies. My goal is to create an entertainment activity center in the classroom that will motivate my students to participate and interact positively with their peers and the adults who aid them in the classroom. The technology will have a dual purpose because I will also be able to integrate the technology into my curriculum, therefore creating more engaging lessons. Students will be able to use the activity center based on a ticket system. They have the opportunity to earn tickets as well as lose tickets based on behavior choices. I will also be working with the other teachers on my hallway who teach my students to create a more cohesive team and display to students that we are all working together for their success.
