As a first grade teacher, I know having a document camera would be a great blessing and supplement to our brand new over head projectors and large screens. In previous years, our school has lacked much technology, and in comparison to other schools and districts, we still do. However we are grateful for small technological progress.
Receiving a document camera would allow our students to learn the material and activities by being able to see and follow along during the model of the lesson. Our students are very easily motivated and engaged when manipulating technology to supplement their learning! Our students do not have the luxury of a Promethean board, laptops, or iPads. We only have one iPad per classroom so I have to pick and choose how I manipulate and efficiently utilize in my classroom. With the document camera, I could easily incorporate many ways my students could use, participate, and appreciate the document camera for a variety of lessons during our days! I want to best prepare my students for the digital world they are living in, and need the resources and tools to do so! Learning and resources can become unlimited with a document camera, making learning more engaging and real for their every day lives!
