There are over 170 students who enter my math class every day, and most of them do not have calculators of their own. Can you imagine being in a high-school-level math class without a calculator? It is especially important to have a class set of the same calculators because every type of calculator functions a little bit differently. If we are all using the same kind, the students will easily be able to follow along with my modeling. Imagine if your art teacher showed you some strategies with acrylic paints but then handed you oils to work with on your own. There is quite a bit of difference! The students will truly benefit from having the same calculators throughout the room. This brand, in particular, is wonderful because it is re-chargeable! We won't have to worry with purchasing endless amounts of batteries every year!
